About Tapps Electric

A family business with industrial roots.

Founded in 2019 by Will and Kayla Morris in Sumner, Washington. Today Tapps is a union, dual-trade electrical and HVAC contractor working on commercial projects across the Pacific Northwest.

It started at the kitchen table.

Will and Kayla both came up at TIC (The Industrial Company) — a self-performing GC running large-scale industrial work under highly regulated safety and quality protocols. 500MW power plants in El Paso. Mining projects in Nevada and Colorado. The SR 99 tunnel in Seattle. Light rail tunnel under Husky Stadium.

Will spent 15 years as a Commercial/Industrial Electrician — today he holds Tapps Electric's administrator license and an active EL01 Journeyman Electrician license. Kayla brings 15 years of operations experience in office management, HR, payroll, and accounting — and runs Tapps day to day.

In 2019 they took the playbook they learned at TIC — schedule discipline, real safety culture, paperwork that doesn't chase the job — and started Tapps to run it for commercial projects in the Pacific Northwest. Two young kids at home, watching how a real business gets built. The long-term goal: build something worth passing down.

Four ideas that run the company.

01

Two trades, one team

Electrical and HVAC carried under a single contract. No subs to coordinate, no markup between them.

02

Union-trained crews

IBEW Locals 46 and 76 on the electrical side, SMART Local 66 on sheet metal and HVAC.

03

Same PM start to finish

The project manager who scopes your job is the same one walking it at closeout. No handoffs.

04

Built to be inherited

We're building Tapps for the long run — reliability, integrity, and craft a generation can be proud of.
